This paper documents the effect of horizontal irregularities on the lateral response of reinforced concrete structures. A different scheme of slabs varies the horizontal irregularity of intermediate-sway moment resisting frame buildings. The main parameters of interest are the height of the buildings and eccentricity value. Eccentricity is varied from zero, for reference specimens, to 0.6L, while height of building is varied between three to fifteen stories.

Results showed non-ductile failure of buildings with higher stories and higher values of eccentricities, resulting in the drop of R. The development of plastic hinge patterns has significantly changed by increasing the eccentricity.
