Anemia Prevalence and Associated Risk Factors among Palestinian Pregnant Women in Governmental Antenatal Clinics: A Cross-Sectional Study

Anemia remains a major public health issue, particularly among pregnant women, as it increases the risk of maternal and fetal complications. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of anemia and its associated risk factors among Palestinian pregnant women attending governmental antenatal clinics. A cross-sectional study was conducted among 100 pregnant women between August and November 2024. Data were collected from medical records a structured questionnaire. Then, the data will be analyzed using SPSS software. The prevalence of anemia was 28.31% and significant associations were found between anemia and hemoglobin, hematocrit, and fruit and vegetable intake, while no significant relationships were observed with age, education, income, iron intake, body mass index, trimester, pregnancy history, or residency.The study concludes that dietary habits may play a key role in anemia among pregnant women. Strengthening prenatal care and promoting proper nutrition are essential for reducing anemia risk and improving maternal health outcomes.
