Resilience in the face of prolonged trauma is not simply about individual strength; it is about maintaining connection, meaning, and mutual support while adversity continues.

Families foster resilience through communication, shared values, and caregiving, while communities provide solidarity, belonging, and collective support.

In the Palestinian context, Sumud (steadfastness) reflects the  powe  family cohesion, cultural identity, attachment to place, and the transmission of hope across generations.

Resilience does not mean the absence of suffering, nor should it replace the need for safety, education, healthcare, and social protection.

The goal is not to teach people to endure more suffering, but to strengthen the relationships and conditions that allow them to live with dignity, meaning, and hope.
