This course covers types of agricultural machines and equipment, their structure and importance, and how they work theoretically. Other topics covered include hydraulics, power transfer, economic performance of machines with emphasis on agricultural tractors. The course also introduces agricultural implements used for soil preparation, farming, harvesting, protection, fertilization, threshing, and spraying. Students will also learn how to select equipment and machines to be used on a farm, fuel, air, electricity and transport systems. The course ends with an introduction to mechanical problems of agricultural tractors and their maintenance.
Give the student an idea about the farm tractor and how it works and about the engine as well as to identify agricultural machinery which are used in various agricultural operations from the moment of preparation for planting until harvest.
