Course Description

The students will be introduced to plant usages, plant growth and development, methods of plant propagation, plant classification,  growth regulators, environmental factors, and harvest

Course Objectives

1-To develop an understanding of the basic principles of plant growth and the influence of humankind and the environment.

2-To introduce students to the general principles of growing plant & the application of those principles to the production.

Intended learning Outcomes and Competences

1. Know plant categories and uses.

2. Obtain basic knowledge about plant growth & development.

3. Identify factors that regulate growth and development of plants; climate, soil, growth regulators, & nutrients.

4. Identify techniques in plant production; greenhouses, soilless culture, harvest and storage.

5. Understand cultural practices in relation to plant production and management.
