This course involves in depth study of special subjects in the area of inorganic chemistry. The students will read selected papers from recent chemical literature related to possible student research in inorganic chemistry. Each student will then select own special topic to follow up during the course. The student is expected to independently read research papers in his/her own special topic, write up technical reports and orally present his/her findings. At the end of the course, the student is expected to write a critical review in his/her specific area.
Each student is expected to attend all lectures, three each week. The lectures will involve group discussions in the way of focus groups, where each student is expected to participate in discussing other students’ progress.
This course aims at enabling the student to use Inorganic Chemistry primary resources in critically reading modern literature in one specific research area. Ability to undertake group discussing, writing technical reports, and orally presenting own findings, is another objective of this course. Moreover, the course enables the student to write up a critical review in one specific subject.
