Course Description

This course aims to introduce students to scientific research methodology and helping him to develop his abilities in understanding research and procedures in conducting it. Students learn concepts, foundation and methods in research before choosing a problem for their own research project, in which they gather data and use analysis methods to solve the problem. 

Course Objectives

Intended learning Outcomes and Competences

By the end of the course, the student will be able to:

 

a. Knowledge and Understanding:

a.1. Mention the main steps in performing a research.

a.2. Describe the types of study design.

a.3. Identify the main tests in data analysis.

a.4. List the main advantages and disadvantages for different types of studies.

 

b. Intellectual Skills

b.1. Design appropriate objectives and hypothesis according to the study types.

b.2. Interpret the data

b.3. Identify the appropriate test needed to analyze the results.

b.4. Contextualize the findings and results

 

c. Professional and Practical Skills

c.1. Design a conceptual framework for a given research title.

c.2. Design a research proposal by following the recommended format.

c.3. Design a questionnaire by applying the appropriate methods.

c.4. Analyse data using the appropriate tests using a statistical program.

c.5 Practice referencing citation using the Endnote program
