This study focuses on the meaning of connotation, its relationship to alternation of letters, its benefits, and Abu Al-Saud’s position on connotation in his interpretation of “Guidance of a Sound Mind” and what types of connotations he uses in his interpretation. Some of what he uses in his interpretation were connoted because of transitivity, and connotation in nouns and infinitives, connoting the meaning of oath in the verb. This was detailed with examples from his interpretation. the features of his approach to connotation were extracted from this interpretation, as he was sometimes stating connotation clearly and in other times alluding to it, or he doesn’t mention it at all, or he mentions the benefit of the connotation in the verb, or makes the meaning of the connoted verb ambiguous or he mentions several possible meanings of it, and he sometimes uses evidence from the Holy Qur'an, its readings, poetry, and the word-of-mouth of the Arabs on connotation
