The study aimed to identify the role of the family in reducing the severity of
electronic violence among children from educational counselors in the northern
governorates point of view. To achieve this goal, the researchers used the
descriptive approach, questionnaire, and interview as tools. The study was
administered to (258) educational counselors. The results of the study showed that the role of the family in reducing the severity of electronic violence among children achieved a mean of (3.11) according to the educational counselors’ responses. The results of the interviews also indicated weakness in the efficiency of family jobs in dealing with the battered child electronically, and the study recommended that intensive courses and workshops should be held to educate families about the negative effects of technology besides the work to develop and support the families role towards controlling their children behavior with technology through the increase monitoring.
