Propaganda Techniques Used in the Russian President’s Discourse during the War on Ukraine

This study aimed to analyze the propaganda techniques and frameworks used by Russian President Vladimir Putin in his speeches during the war on Ukraine. To achieve this goal, the researcher used a qualitative approach through a content analysis and objective analysis, while the study community consists of the Russian President Vladimir Putin speeches during the war on Ukraine. Also, the study sample consisted of Putin’s speeches since the beginning of the prelude to the war on Ukraine on (21/2/2022) to (15/14/2022), which were 6 speeches. The study reveals that Putin used the Name-Calling Technique in his speeches with a rate of (38.9%) to generating negative attitudes among the peoples in Ukraine and the West towards NATO and the ruling regime in Ukraine, while he focused in his speech extensively on the issue of raising the negatives of the Ukrainian regime and NATO, with a rate of (21.2%). Moreover, he uses the strategy framework, with a rate of (29.8%).
