Abstract: The study aimed to explore the extent of using artificial intelligence in teaching science and its relationship with enhancing students' motivation towards learning in government schools in Nablus. Additionally, it sought to investigate whether there are differences in the study participants' responses regarding their attitudes toward the use of artificial intelligence in teaching science in government schools in Nablus based on gender, years of experience, and educational qualifications. The study also aimed to examine if there are differences in the responses regarding the increase in students' motivation toward learning through the use of artificial intelligence in teaching science in government schools in Nablus based on gender, years of experience, and educational qualifications.
The researcher employed a descriptive survey methodology and selected a sample of 136 teachers from government schools in Nablus using a convenient sampling method. The study utilized a scale consisting of 30 items, addressing two main aspects: the first focused on the use of artificial intelligence in teaching science in government schools in Nablus, and the second on the increase in student motivation towards learning. The researcher ensured the validity and reliability of the tool.
The study yielded several key findings. Firstly, the degree of using artificial intelligence in teaching science in government schools in Nablus was substantial, indicating a positive trend. Secondly, the estimation of the level of increased student motivation towards learning in light of using technology in teaching science in government schools in Nablus was positive. The study confirmed a strong and significant relationship between using artificial intelligence in teaching science and increasing student motivation in Nablus schools. Furthermore, the study revealed no significant differences in the responses based on gender, years of experience, or educational qualifications regarding attitudes toward using artificial intelligence in teaching science and increasing students' motivation towards learning.
Based on the study results, recommendations include enhancing the use of artificial intelligence in teaching science, providing training and workshops for teachers, monitoring differences based on gender, qualifications, and experience, adopting strategies to enhance student motivation, and ensuring the implementation of educational policies. Additionally, attention should be given to other factors that may impact student motivation to improve the quality of the learning experience in Nablus schools.
