This research addresses the topic of the Nablus Central Zakat Committee, aiming to demonstrate the importance of this committee and its role in economic empowerment. Due to the significance of the subject, the research was divided into an introduction and three sections.
The introduction discusses the role of zakat in economic empowerment. The first section examines the role of the educational project of the Nablus Zakat Committee in economic empowerment, while the second section discusses the role of the healthcare project of the committee in economic empowerment. The third section addresses the role of the ongoing charity project (Waqf/endowment) of the Nablus Zakat Committee in economic empowerment.
The Nablus Zakat Committee was chosen as a model for economic empowerment because of several distinguishing features:

It is among the earliest operating institutions at the governorate level that target large numbers of employees and workers from various specializations within its multiple institutions, as it owns numerous projects supported by integrated infrastructure and qualified staff.

It is considered one of the largest and most important community institutions in Nablus Governorate and among the most active in providing diverse community services.

It is one of the community institutions most closely connected to the needs of poor and marginalized families.

It is among the local institutions possessing extensive cumulative experience at the administrative, financial, technical, public relations, and project management levels, where its work is linked to concepts of planning, evaluation, and follow-up.

The study concluded by clarifying the concept of economic empowerment, which refers to striving to achieve financial self-sufficiency for individuals through various means, enabling them to become independent from others. The study also highlighted the role of the projects of the Nablus Central Zakat Committee in economic empowerment through creating job opportunities for graduates and providing them with training.
In conducting this research, the researcher adopted two approaches: the inductive approach and the analytical approach, by examining all the projects of the Nablus Zakat Committee and their role in economic empowerment.
The study did not address certain jurisprudential issues related to the role of zakat in economic empowerment, such as investing zakat funds, because the Nablus Zakat Committee does not invest such funds. Rather, the research focuses on the role of the Nablus Zakat Committee in economic empowerment.
