Abstract This research explores the evolving role of faculty in online education, with a focus on redefined responsibilities, workload considerations, equitable compensation, and potential future directions. Through a comprehensive literature review and qualitative interviews, the study uncovers multifaceted challenges faced by faculty in adapting to online teaching. Findings underscore the significance of tailored professional development, balanced work allocation, and fair remuneration models to empower faculty in effectively navigating the online learning landscape. The research also posits that subsequent studies could explore the lasting effects of these transformations on educator enthusiasm, learner results, and institutional methods towards durable online learning.
