Abstract: Objective: This study examines selected subjects presented in textbooks utilized by Palestinian schoolchildren in occupied East Jerusalem as well as those residing inside Israel, demonstrating how the dominant Israeli educational system conveys a narrative of tolerance to transform Palestinian children (the dominated group) into "dovish" individuals while providing Israeli children with a collective memory that fosters self-centric narratives to shape them into "hawkish" individuals. Methodology: To achieve this objective, the study utilizes Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) to deconstruct ideological structures, alongside critical content analysis to identify recurring themes, linguistic patterns, and representations of historical and political narratives across explicit and implicit content. Findings: The results highlight that the intended outcomes of this dual strategy have largely backfired, contributing to heightened tension and unrest in the streets of Jerusalem and other cities. Additionally, the findings indicate that while this policy of alienating Palestinian culture may be intended to yield strategic benefits, its immediate implementation produces adverse repercussions for all parties involved. Conclusion: The findings suggest that the dual strategy of curriculum content and cultural alienation fails to produce the intended outcomes, instead resulting in immediate adverse repercussions and heightened tension across cities. Recommendations: As per the study, policy approaches regarding the presentation of Palestinian culture and historical narratives in textbooks should be re-evaluated to address and prevent the adverse repercussions and unrest produced by current educational strategies.
