Level of negotiation skills among cadets of military,
security and police sciences at Al-Istiqlal University

The study aimed to identify the Level of negotiation skills among cadets
of military, security and police sciences at Al-Istiqlal University in Palestine.
Besides it determined the differences in the level of negotiation skillsaccording to gender, specialization and academic level among students. To
achieve that, the study was conducted on a sample of (132) students, and (47)items (Alhorrege &Al-Harbi, 2013) scale applied to them for measuring (NS),the scale consisted of eight skills: (Forbearances, Surprise, Fait Accompli,Withdrawal, Graduation, Agency , Participation, and Feinting).
The results of the study indicated that the level of the total score of
negotiation skills was moderate , where the percentage of response as(52.70%), and the level for all skills were moderate, the highest skill was
Participation (62.33%), and the lowest skill was Feinting ( 46.73%). In addition,
The results revealed a significant difference in the total score of negotiation
skills according to gender in favor of males, and academic level between the
first, second, third and fourth years in favor of the second, third and fourth
years. While there were no significant differences due to specialty variable.
Based on the findings of the study, the researcher recommended increasing
attention to the development of negotiation skills in lectures between studentsand instructors, and students with each other; in addition, increase interest inco-curricular activities which encourage negotiation, dialogue and discussionamong students.
