Health Awareness Level and Sources of Health Information of Arab Clubs Players in Volleyball

The purpose of this study was to investigate health awareness level and sources of health information of Arab clubs players in Volleyball. Furthermore, its purpose was to determine the effect of players experience and qualification on health awareness level. The sample consisted of 90 players who participated in the twenty second Arab clubs championship held in Jordan. The questionnaire contains 57 items on health awareness which covers the domains of the study, and 8 items measure sources of health information. The results indicate that there was a high degree of health awareness level of Arab clubs players in Volleyball, where the overall percentage of response amounted to (81%). Also, the results revealed a significant difference among health awareness domains in favor of social and psychological stress control domain. In addition, there were non-significant differences at (α = 0.05) on health awareness level of Arab clubs players in Volleyball due to playing experience, qualification and interaction. The media was the first source of health information of players. Based on the study findings, the researcher recommended guiding players in conducting comprehensive medical tests at least once a year.
