Prof.Dr. Moien Omar is a Professor of Electrical Engineering, specializing in Power Electronics and Energy Systems, at An-Najah National University, Palestine. He earned his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from An-Najah National University in 2003.

From 2004 to 2012, Prof.Dr. Omar worked at the Energy Research Center at An-Najah National University, where he gained extensive practical and research experience in energy systems and renewable energy applications.

He obtained his M.Sc. degree in Power and Energy Engineering from An-Najah National University in 2008. His master's research focused on the Computer-Aided Design and Performance Evaluation of PV-Diesel Hybrid Systems. In 2012, he was awarded a scholarship to pursue his Ph.D. in Electrical Power Electronics Applications in Power Systems, which he completed in 2015.

Following the completion of his Ph.D., Prof. Omar joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at An-Najah National University as an Assistant Professor, serving from 2015 to 2020. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2020 and served in this position until 2025. Since 2025, he has been a Professor in the Electrical Engineering Program.

Prof Omar has extensive teaching experience in several areas of electrical engineering. He teaches Electrical Machines and Power Electronics at the undergraduate level. At the master's level, he teaches courses including Smart Grids and Power System Economics, in addition to a variety of other courses within the Electrical Power Engineering program.

His academic and research interests include power electronics, renewable energy systems, photovoltaic systems, hybrid PV-diesel-battery systems, energy storage, power converter control, smart grids, distributed generation, and microgrids.
