Biography

Basheer Shaheen is Currently a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Manufacturing Science and Engineering - Faculty of mechanical engineering of Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), Budapest, Hungary. He received his BSc degree in Industrial Engineering in 2011 and his MSc degree in Sustainable Production Engineering in 2017. Currently, he is working on developing and utilizing combined methods of AI-ML (ANN - NBN), discrete simulation (Monte Carlo), and genetic algorithm optimization in maintenance planning and scheduling of complex manufacturing systems.

Basheer’s research interests are based on multidisciplinary research activities; including the global challenges in sustainable industrial engineering, maintenance engineering, planning and scheduling ,discrete simulation, ML- ANN, predictive maintenance, AI, fault prognostics, genetic algorithms, optimization and the new global industrial paradigms, such as, Industry 4.0, Smart Factories, sustainable product design, operations management, lean manufacturing & quality engineering .
