I graduated from the University of Jordan in 2001 with a PhD in Islamic Medieval Literature. I have over 29 years of experience in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers (TAFL).

I have published numerous books and research studies in Medieval Islamic literature, Andalusian literature, classical Arabic literary criticism, Islamic history, as well as the theoretical and practical dimensions of teaching Arabic as a foreign language.

At An-Najah National University, I founded the Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Program and served as Director of the Institute for 13 years. I designed the Minor program in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language, co-developed the Master’s program in TAFL within the same department, and co-designed the PhD program in Arabic Language and Literature. Additionally, I have been appointed Head of the Department of Arabic for Non-Native Speakers for multiple terms.

I am also a co-founder of the International Arabic Proficiency Exam for Non-Native Speakers, administered by An-Najah National University in Greece, which received official recognition by the Greek Parliament.

I have participated in numerous local, regional, and international conferences across my fields of expertise. My current academic rank is Full Professor.
