Dr. Alaa Sobhi Razia is an Associate Professor in the Department of Islamic Banking at An-Najah National University, where he previously served as Chairman of the Department and Coordinator of the Graduate Islamic Finance Program. He earned his Ph.D. in Financial Economics from the University of Santiago de Compostela in Spain, an M.A. in Economics from Texas Tech University in the USA, and an M.A. in Islamic Economics and Banking from Yarmouk University in Jordan. Bridging academic research with industry practice, Dr. Razia also serves as head of Sharia Supervisory board for Palestine Islamic Bank and Ijara Company. His active research program covers banking efficiency, market structure, financial stability, financial inclusion, and digital transformation/fintech in Islamic finance across the MENA region—work that has earned him multiple High Impact Scientific Research Awards from An-Najah National University.
