Dr. Liana Al-Labadi completed her undergraduate studies in Biochemistry at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. She is a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Optometry, where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2009. She received post-graduate training in an Ohio State University affiliated Ocular Disease Residency Program at the Ohio Eye Alliance Surgical Center. Dr. Liana returned back to Palestine in July 2010, and she is currently an assistant professor, clinical program director and head of Optometry Division at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at An-Najah National University in Nablus. She has been involved in the development of speciality university clinics including primary eye care, low vision rehabilitation and contact lens services, as well as setting up a pediatric preschool vision screening program in Palestine. Dr. Liana’s research interests include vision screening among the pediatric population, keratoconus and dry eye. She has presented posters at the EastWest Eye Conference and was a guest speaker at multiple conferences in Palestine and Jordan. She has also volunteered her professional skills by providing comprehensive eye exams to people in need in countries such as Nicaragua and Ecuador. In addition, she has organized and participated in various community work and volunteering projects in the occupied 1948 and West Bank areas.
