Biography

Dr. Faten Amer is a Palestinian researcher and an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at An-Najah National University. She holds a PhD in Health Sciences with a specialization in Health Services Management and Health Policies, and she is also a licensed pharmacist. The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences where she works is ranked among the top 176–200 medical and health faculties worldwide.

Her research focuses on improving safety and quality in the healthcare sector and hospitals. Her areas of expertise include:

  • Applications of the Balanced Scorecard

  • Engagement of physicians, nurses, and patients

  • Evaluation of healthcare performance and quality

  • Health services management and policy

  • Health system strengthening and patient safety

  • Continuing pharmaceutical education and patient education

  • Nurse burnout

  • Fear of childbirth and fear of falling among pregnant women

She has extensive experience in research methodologies, including:

  • Being honored as a guest speaker and receiving awards for best presentations at national and international conferences

  • Earning prestigious scholarships, such as the Stipendium Hungaricum PhD scholarship

  • Publishing research articles in Q1 journals, achieving an impact factor of 112 and an h-index of 6 within three years

  • Having her work cited by the World Health Organization and the European Commission

  • Serving on the editorial board of PLOS ONE as an academic editor

  • Teaching university courses on healthcare quality and safety, and clinical research methods
