Amjad El-Qanni is an Associate Professor in the Chemical Engineering Program at An-Najah National University (NNU), Nablus, Palestine. He serves as the Director of the Academic and Professional Development Center. El-Qanni earned his PhD in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering with a focus on Energy and Environment from the University of Calgary, Canada, in 2018. He holds an MSc in Urban Environmental Engineering from École Centrale de Nantes, France (2012), and a BSc in Chemical Engineering from NNU (2009).
El-Qanni's research centers on harnessing nanotechnology for energy and environmental advancements, with additional interests in wastewater treatment and solid waste management. His distinguished academic journey has been marked by numerous national and international awards and scholarships. Notably, between 2015 and 2018, he received the prestigious Werner Graupe International Fellowship in Engineering, one of only two recipients in Canada, underscoring his exceptional achievements.
A prolific researcher, El-Qanni has co-authored over 40 peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters, making notable contributions to energy sustainability and environmental preservation. His work bridges academia and industry, addressing global challenges through innovation and cross-disciplinary collaboration. El-Qanni supervises students, fostering high-impact research, and regularly reviews for esteemed journals, reinforcing his standing in the academic community.
