BIOSKETCH
Amjad El-Qanni is an Assistant Professor in the Program of Chemical Engineering at An-Najah National University (ANNU) in Nablus, Palestine. He is also the Scholarships Coordinator. El-Qanni received his PhD in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, specializing in Energy and Environment, from the University of Calgary (Alberta, Canada) in 2018, MSc in Urban Environmental Engineering from École Centrale de Nantes (Loire-Atlantique, France) in 2012, and BSc degree in Chemical Engineering from ANNU in 2009. His research interest is focused on employing nanotechnology for energy and environmental applications, in addition to other research interests related to wastewater treatment and solid waste management. Owing to his excellent academic record, El-Qanni has won many national and international awards and scholarships. Between 2015 and 2018, he has been awarded the prestigious Werner Graupe International Fellowship in Engineering. As one of only two candidates in Canada to receive this fellowship, it has been recognized as a distinct honor. El-Qanni has co-authored 20+ peer-reviewed journal publications and conference papers, in his specialized domain of nanotechnology.
