Mohyeddin Assali obtained his B.sc. degree in Pharmacy in 2006 with first-class honors at An-Najah National University-Palestine. He received his master's degree in advanced
studies of chemistry in the organic and pharmaceutical department at Seville
University/Spain. After that, he was awarded a scholarship from AECID/Spain
to complete his Ph.D. degree in medicinal chemistry and nanomedicine at
CICCARTUJA/CSIC-Seville University-Spain. In 2013, he returned to An-Najah National University to continue his work as an assistant professor. In 2019, he was promoted to associate professor in medicinal chemistry and nanomedicine. His research focuses on the synthesis of self-assembled nanomaterials and the functionalization of carbon nanomaterials (carbon nanotubes, graphene, and carbon nanodots) for biomedical applications which include cancer therapy, infectious diseases, and tissue engineering.
