Dr. Alia Assali was born in Nablus in 1971. She is married and has three children. Dr. Assali earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis on civic education from Al- Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt 2010. She was the Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Teacher Training and the coordinator of gifted education master program at An Najah National University 2014-2018 where she has been a staff member since 2003. Dr. Assali has published on various topics in education. Over the years, she has supervised many theses and graduate projects related to curriculum and instruction as well as gender studies. In addition to her active membership in many scientific and preparatory professional committees and task forces, she is a social activist at several local, regional and international institutions; she is also advocate for human right and civic issues.
